It is that time of year again, roasting veggies over a camp fire in the crisp autumn air! I am sure there is a treat in store for these little bunnies!!
I love this latest picture of mine
Recently, I started to read the scripts of VOA Special English Web site.
VOA has some features, is written with limited words and easy grammars so that non-native Speakers of English can understand, and the audio of VOA is read out more slowly than normal speed as well.
Despite of that, it’s difficult for me. I import the scripts of VOA into the LingQ site, and then I read them on LingQ, while looking up words and phases that I don’t know in the dictionary. After that, I memorize vocabularies with flash cards test system.
I intended to read them carefully and understand them well. However I couldn’t remember the contents. Though I can remember what I read in Japanese, I can’t remember what I read in English. The contents that I read in English tend not to remain in my head. I need to read them over and over until I can explain the summary.
I'm so exiceted to wait to see the Cirque du Soleil performance tonight, here in Japan.
Fortunately, my place is very close place to Tokyo Disney Resort. Therefore, I can get to its theather in 30 mins.
I'll make some comments here after the event!
It's been long long time to visit and type out on the vox. It has been very busy days after baby comes around for 2 yeas. :) The baby growth as a toddler now. She speaks lots of words and even sentences nowadays...!
By the way, I excited to announce you that I've got a amazonKindle generation 2 international version from amazon.com. I've orderd there online and what a surprise it arrived for only few days at our place (Japan) !
amazonKindle is a populer e-book device in the U.S which has a 3G mobile connection tool for download all materials you purchased. Now, it is spreaded to 200 of countries in the world. Japan is one of them. Therefore, I tried to get this one. It will be good to keep me to continue to study English, anyway.
You can buy e-book via 3G mobile network from amazon.com. You can subscribe not only books but daily newspapers, magazines cheeper than paper book. If you subscribe a newspaper, such as NewYorkTimes, monthly, it will be automatically delivered to your Kindle device everyday. Oh, 3G connection is free for download. That's awsome !
In addition to it, you can read such kind of world-wide-famous newspapers, magazines out side of the U.S. I've tried to buy some of newspapers as "current issue". It's wonderfule to read on real time.(Maybe faster than paper one, actually)
amazonKindle also has a awsome text-to-speach function. You can listen the sound of text with mail or femail voices. It is really enhanced computer voice. But my wife told me "That's computer voice, anyway. You should not practice your pronounciation." :) However, I really impressed by these voices none the worse for accenting wrong sometimes.
It will be good function for English learners just like me.
amazonKindle uses special ink for display characters and pictures. This is also watchable technology.
Thank you for reading my poor typing.
Keep in touch with all of you on the vox.
best regards
The other day, my husband was said that his heart was becoming larger size as the result of the medical examination.
He likes sports very much. He has been playing a lot of sports since he was young, base ball, athletic sports and so on. His doctor said to him, though sports was one of the causes, the most important cause was his fatness. He needs to lose his weight.
A few days later, we told some people about the enlargement of the heart at the English conversation school. At that time, we first heard the words “Negative Calorie Food”.
A negative calorie food burns more calories to be digested than that of the food. In other words, the more to eat them is the more to lose calories. Apparently it has more effect to take in them in five or six times divided meals, not three meals a day.
The way seems that people get satisfied because they don’t feel hungry, no frustrations and no rebounds as well.
We got the great advice! Today, my husband left for work with four small lunch boxes.
I finished this pic in a matter of hours on friday. I am sorry I didn't link this picture here...
Oh my!
There was a typhoon last night.. and I woke up at about 2:30. My little bunny Pyonko found her way between my arms... I heard only wind and rain, and there was some lightening. I asked my little Pyonko, 'ohhh are you scared?' and she said yes! So i pet her and put her on her blanket and told her everything was going to be OK. Then we fell asleep again. I woke up and listened to the radio to get info about the trains. Of course they were late... But the express line from my house to the baby office (11 stops, 63 min) was not running. So I had to leave earlier than normal because I knew the trains were going to be slow. I would have to transfer instead of take the normal route. Naturally I was in a rush! I left my phone on my bed and ran out the door! Well I get on the train and head towards Tokyo. 5 stations into the trip the train came to a stop... The announcer said that all the trains from Saitama to Tokyo are stopped because of the wind. To get to Tokyo, we have to cross a river. Apparently there was a lot of wind across the bridges and it was not safe to run the trains across. Well after waiting for about 20 min, the announcement came that the train will be stopped until 12:00. Bad because I start work at 11. Worse because i left my phone at my house and I couldn't call BABY to let them know. So I went to the McDonalds (luckily they were still serving breakfast, that is the ONLY thing I can stomach there) because they had wireless... or so i thought. I wanted to connect to the net so I could email BABY... It was then when i realized that i have the english webpage i have been building for them on my computer! and I have the phone number to the office on the webpage!! So I was able to use a pay phone and call in and tell them I would be late. Needless to say, my normal 63 min commute turned out to be a 3 1/2 hour commute via 3 trains. The way home was smoother, but crammed, because the express line was not running... but I am home now, after a long long long day... and Pyonko is happy
Since my children moved out of our house to go to universities, I feel a sense of freedom from raising them. I have spent a long time being in front of my computer in the name of learning English almost every day. At other times, I play with my dogs. As a result of that, I haven’t tidied up the rooms. My house is really in a mess.
In my elder son’s room, my clothes are scattered all over the place. In my second son’s room, a sewing machine is placed and some cloths are spread to sew something some day. In my daughter’s room, the table is placed to trim and groom my dogs’ hair, there are many dogs’ tools as well. In addition, there are even many mementoes of my ancestors and unnecessary household goods in the closets.
I need to clean the closets and rooms. I need to recognize that no longer need things that had never even been used for three years.
I will throw out them in the near future.
