Work Style

Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for an employer. Would you rather be self-employed, work for someone else, or own a business?

I prefer to be self-employed because I don't want to be told to retire by someone one day. I may spend less time on work in the future, but I do not want to retire at sixty or something. If you work for a company, there are many things you have to do by that company's rules. Owning a business does not sound fun to me, either. I would like to do things myself, and just owning a business and letting others handle it is not my style.

In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic to be successful in life?

The most important characteristic for me to be successful in life is honesty. I would not be satisfied with ~~whatever~~ anything I do if I am not being honest not only to other people but also to myself.

Honesty to other people is a key to any successful life, as you cannot achieve success without other people's support. Some people just use others and do not appreciate them, and they eventually fail. Honesty is needed to see what you really are and to make your success a real one.

Honesty to myself is also important. I worked as a sales person for more than five years. During these years, I ~~had said and done~~ said and did many things that I would not have if it were not for work. I sold expensive luggage that I would never buy for myself, or I was very nice to a person who came to our store just to insult the staff. I sometimes had to be pushy or tolerant with people whom I did not wish to talk to. In a sense, I needed to be someone else, ignoring what I really felt.

However, in my opinion, these things happen when you work. You do what you have to do. The important fact in such cases is if I am being honest to myself. I want to do my best at the job, however, it does not mean I would do anything. There is always a limit. I would not go farther if I ~~start~~ started feeling uncomfortable. I would like to be honest to my work and myself at the same time.

I am not a millionaire and may not be financially successful, however, I am quite content with my life. I would like to make more money, do more things, and keep leading a happy life without losing honesty.

What qualities do you look for in a friend?

When I think of the things that are common among my friends, the first thing ~~comes up~~ that comes to my mind is the similarity in values. None of my close friends spend a lot of money on clothing or bags. They would rather have a reasonable lunch at a fine restaurant as often as possible, and that suits me well.

The other thing that occurs to me is we do not need to keep close contact with each other to stay friends. When I was a student, my friends were also students and we led ~~the similar life~~ similar lives. Spending some time with friends was a daily routine. However, we have now become adults, and some of us have children and others are busy with their work. It is not easy to find a convenient time. We see each other less and less with years, but when something happens I can talk to them as if I was seeing them twice a week.

I have one friend whom I saw only three times during last 20 years. She is a friend from junior high school. She moved in to our town when we were in ninth grade and moved out a year later. I often feel how lucky I am to have our friendship, considering how little time we spent together and we did not have emails back then. She has been suffering from serious atopic dermatitis and that is one of the reasons I cannot see her often. Despite that, ~~I feel her very close~~ I feel very close to her and hopefully she feels the same.

Je suis allée voir deux amies dont j'ai fait la connaissance récemment. Toutes les deux ont un bébé qui est né l'année dernière. Les bébés sont plus âgé que Koudai ~~de un~~ d'un mois. Nous sommes allées dans un café où on peut faire jouer ~~un bébé~~ les bébés. On doit payer le un prix de location pour les jouets, mais il ce n'est pas cher. Il y avait beaucoup de jouets, et les bébés ont joui pleinement de la place.

What are some of the qualities of a good parent? Use specific details and examples to explain your answer.

As I have become a parent myself, I do want to know what makes one a good parent. However, in my opinion, there are no certain qualities of a good parent. It can only be determined by their child, and each child would want different things from their parent.

In my case, I have great parents. I respect both of my parents ~~as a parent and as a person~~ as both parents and as people. They are always supportive and I have always known they are there for me, although I do not usually ask them for any help or advice. They have done many things for me; however, what I am thankful ~~about them most~~ for the most is not what they do as ~~a parent~~ as parents, but the fact they love each other very much. From an early age, to see them enjoying their lives together made me feel very ~~secured~~ secure. I could go and explore whatever I wanted, but I always had a place to return.

I am not sure what I can or will do for my baby as a parent, but I think keeping a good relationship with my husband is a good place to start.

People do many different things to stay healthy. What do you do to maintain your health?

Until recently I had believed that one could stay healthy unless he did something unhealthy. This might have been true to some extent, especially when you are young. However, I have started to realize that being healthy requires a little more than that.

When I was young, I did not need to worry about my diet as long as I lived with my parents and ate my mother's ~~meal~~ meals. I could do reasonable exercise just by going to school. I had to run up stairs to catch a train and swim in a pool twice a week not for fun but for a PE class. I thought people who needed to worry about health were those who drank alcohol a lot, smoked ~~a cigarette~~ cigarettes a lot, and did not do any exercise.

However, when I got pregnant, I had to give more consideration to ~~weather~~ whether I was leading a healthy life, not only for myself but also a baby growing inside me. Just going to work does not provide enough exercise any more. I do not drink alcohol nor smoke ~~a cigarette~~ cigarettes, but junk foods are all around and hard to avoid. I love eating out to save time and have relaxed time, but the meal at a restaurant is not as healthy as the one you make. For the first time, I felt I needed to do something to stay healthy.

My eating ~~habit has been changed~~ habits have changed a lot. The biggest reason is that with my little baby I cannot ~~eat outside~~ eat out as often as I did and am forced to cook myself. A nutritionist told me to eat fish everyday at one of the seminars for mothers-to-be. It is hard for me to follow that, but I try to make fish dishes every two or three days. I have not been able to spend a lot of time on exercise, but as my baby grows up, I will be forced to move eventually.

mon iPod

J’ai perdu mon iPod. Je le cherche ~~pendant~~ depuis deux semaines, mais je ne peux pas le trouve retrouver. Je n’avais pas le temps d’écouter ~~podcast~~ des podcasts jusqu’à tout récemment, donc je n’utilisais pas mon iPod longtemps. Je ne suis pas m’inquiétée trop ne me suis pas trop inquiétée quand j’ai commencé à le chercher. J’ai eu en vue passé en revue les places où j’avais mis mon iPod, mais je ne le trouve nulle part. Mon iPod était le plus petit et le mois moins cher, mais je ne veux pas acheter la même chose!

P.S.
January 19 was my birthday, but I have not received any present from my husband. Therefore, I am now asking for iPod Touch! It is rather expensive, but I know he wants it himself as we both love new gadgets. He might as well buy it for me to check it out!

Je regarde ~~une dramatique français~~ une série policière française à la télé ces derniers temps. La Le programme s'appelle « Julie Lescaut ». Julie Lescaut est commissaire de police et aussi mère de deux filles. Dans ce programme, beaucoup de choses se passent dans un épisode. Il y a un meurtre, ~~une brouille familial~~ une brouille familiale, et une romance. J'aime regarder comment ~~ils résoudront~~ sera résolu le meurtre autant que de voir ce qui ~~se passera~~ arrivera à chaque ~~caractère~~ personnage.

Ma Famille

Aujourd’hui, je voudrais parler ~~à mon~~ de ma famille. Je vis ~~au 7ème étage dan un immeuble~~ dans un immeuble de 7 étages avec mon mari et mon bébé. Nous habitons à Kobe, au Japon. Mon mari est plus jeune que moi, mais il a des idées plus saines. Mes parents ne vivent pas avec nous, mais ils habitent dans la même région. J’ai deux frères. Mon petit frère ~~encore habite~~ habite encore avec nos parents. Mon grand frère et sa femme ont immigré en Nouvelle-Zélande il y a quatre ans. Ils ont acheté un café à Auckland. Il était ingénieur quand il ~~a travaillé~~ travaillait au Japon, mais il travaille actuellement comme ‘barista’.
